ASKLOCAL MARKETPLACE, LLC
Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026. This policy covers asklocal.com, AskLocal.ai, and the AskLocal concierge. It replaces the January 2, 2024 policy.

Who we are
AskLocal Marketplace, LLC (“AskLocal,” “we,” “us”) operates the AskLocal concierge. The concierge is a private, shared record for a real estate transaction. The client, the agent, and the professionals on that file can see the same steps, the same messages, and the same documents. AskLocal is the infrastructure. We are not the client’s real estate broker, and we are not the client’s lender, unless a separate licensed engagement says so.
The short version
- We collect what the file needs: identity, contact details, transaction details, messages, and documents the client or the team uploads.
- People on that file can see what the file is for. People who are not on the file cannot.
- We do not sell personal information.
- No mortgage provider is required. Using AskLocal does not require the client to use any particular lender.
- We do not send a client’s file into a lender’s loan system unless that client is working with that lender and the share is for that file.
- You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information at concierge@asklocal.com.
Information we collect
Information you or your team give us.
- Name, email, phone, and mailing address.
- Account login details.
- Role on the file: client, agent, coordinator, lender, or other professional invited to that file.
- Messages, notes, tasks, and documents uploaded to the concierge.
- Transaction details the team enters, such as property address, timeline, and status. We do not require a Social Security number, a full loan application, or a credit report to use the concierge.
Information collected automatically.
- Device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Log and security data used to keep the account from being misused.
- Cookie and similar identifiers needed to keep you signed in and to remember a preference. You can refuse non-essential cookies in your browser. The concierge may not function if essential cookies are blocked.
Who can see a file
A file is visible to the client and to the professionals invited to that file. An agent sees the files that agent is on. A coordinator sees the files that coordinator is assigned to move. A lender sees a file only if that lender has been added to it. AskLocal staff may access a file to provide support, keep the service running, or meet a legal duty. We do not make a client file public, and we do not give one office’s files to another office.
How we use information
- To run the concierge and show each party the same record.
- To send notices about the file, security, and the account.
- To staff the file with coordinators tasked with moving the deal.
- To keep the service secure and to investigate misuse.
- To bill a professional or an office for seats or services that office has agreed to. Seat billing is not tied to a funded loan.
- To improve the service, using aggregated or de-identified information where we can.
We do not use a client’s file to advertise a lender to that client. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who we share with
- Professionals on that file, as described above.
- Service providers who host, secure, email, or support the concierge, under a duty to use the information only for that work.
- A lender or brokerage, only for a file that party is on, or as the client directs.
- A buyer of the business, if AskLocal is sold or merged. We will notify affected users before a different privacy policy applies.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or when we must protect a user, the public, or AskLocal.
AskLocal does not connect the concierge to a lender’s origination system as a condition of using the service. A connection of that kind happens only if the client is in process with that lender and the share is limited to that file.
Security
AskLocal maintains SOC 2 controls and a public SOC 3 report. Access to a file is limited to the people on it and to staff who need it for support or security. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. We do not claim otherwise.
How long we keep it
We keep file information for as long as the account or the transaction requires, and longer if a law, a dispute, or a security need requires it. Usage logs are kept for a shorter period unless they are needed for security. You may request deletion. We will delete or de-identify what we are not required to keep.
Your choices and rights
You may access, correct, or delete your information, and you may opt out of marketing email, by writing to concierge@asklocal.com or by using the controls in the concierge. We will not deny the service because you exercised a privacy right. If you are a California resident, you may also request the categories of personal information we collected, the categories of sources, and the categories of parties we shared it with. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no sale to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
We will verify a request before we act on it. An authorized agent may submit a request with proof of authority. We will respond within the time the applicable law requires.
Children
The concierge is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Contact us if you believe a child has given us information and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version at asklocal.com/privacy and change the effective date. The same policy is linked inside the concierge. A change that materially reduces a right will be posted before it takes effect.

This policy is the public notice for the concierge. It is not a mortgage disclosure, and it does not choose a client’s lender.
